Winter Camp Checklist
Required Equiptment
- Completed Medical form all Scouts and Adults
- Sleeping bag and extra blanket(s)
- Camping mat or pad
- Complete winter uniform (Class A shirt, pants or jeans, socks, belt if needed)
- Thermal underwear (see comments under “layered” clothing on next page)
- Extra socks - plenty - minimum 5 pair
- Extra shoes
- Rain gear (poncho or raincoat)
- Warm hat and/or a knit hat
- Gloves or mittens
- Handkerchiefs or bandannas
- Several towels
- Toiletry articles - soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, etc.
- Folding knife (handy but not necessary if don’t already have one)
- Flashlight
- Scout Handbook, merit badge books, notebook and pen
- Winter coat, sweater and jacket (for layering)
- Duffel bag or backpack
- Ground cloth (troop will provide)
- Nalgene or water bottle
- Camp chair
Optional Items
- Religious book
- Compass - suggested for Orienteering Merit Badge
- Camera (inexpensive or disposable)
- Fishing gear - required for Fishing Merit Badge
- Spending money for Trading Post and if required for a Merit Badge
- Inexpensive watch
- Sun glasses (if you're lucky, you'll need them)
- Waterproof boots (may be handy to have, but not necessary)
NO COTS. We are using troop tents, and they will not fit.
